The women arrived Thursday morning and will serve as volunteer soldiers. Army Chief of Staff Georgios Kostidis was present at the Lamia KEYP center today. The formal oath ceremony is scheduled for Friday, June 26, and Defense Minister Nikos Dendias is expected to attend. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis may also be present at the ceremony, according to LamiaReport.gr.

The move reflects a broader shift in how Greece is building its armed forces, with women now entering the ranks as full volunteers alongside men.
